Roar Along With The Music Of The Lion King On Broadway

Everyone remembers the 90′s movie the Lion King. Still revered by many as one of Disney’s greatest flicks, the animated movie showcased Matthew Broderick, Whooopi Goldberg and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. The actors on stage are propped to look as if they are animals, but there is no real attempt to hide the humans carrying the animals. Because of this play on recognition, audience members are required to adapt to the mix of the elements, thus becoming captivated by the emotional storytelling and elaborate gestures. Many of the songs from the original movie are included in the Broadway production, with a few new ones added in.

The performance is about 2 1/2 hours long, with Intermission included. It is one of the most popular shows on Broadway around the world, having won over 70 major awards, including a Tony for Best Musical and Grammy for Best Musical Show Album.

The show is currently playing in Las Vegas, and will continue performances through the spring.
